Growth-Driven Expansion Marks New Chapter for Condition Monitoring Specialists

Engineering Dynamics (ED), a South African company specialising in condition monitoring equipment and laser alignment solutions, has relocated to new premises in Lynnwood Ridge, Pretoria, effective May 2025. After 30 years in Faerie Glen, this move reflects ED’s ongoing growth and commitment to serving clients across mining, manufacturing, energy, marine, pulp and paper, food and beverage, and chemical processing industries throughout Africa.

Founded in 1994 by CEO Christo van der Walt, ED has evolved from serving southern Africa to supporting critical asset management across the continent. “Our mission is to recommend the right tool, train and certify professionals, and calibrate equipment with cost-effective, fast turnaround times,” says van der Walt.

The new Lynnwood Ridge facility marks a pivotal step forward, enabling ED to bring training in-house after years of using external venues. Courses in vibration analysis, field balancing, and shaft alignment are tailored for engineers, technicians, supervisors, fitters, rotating equipment specialists, and condition monitoring professionals. These programmes equip clients with practical skills to maintain high-value assets. The response has been strong, with training sessions fully booked within weeks of the move, reflecting ED’s reputation for quality and relevance.

As the sole distributor of Easy- Laser® products in several African countries, ED invested in specialised calibration equipment to meet growing client demand efficiently. ED’s fully accredited, on-site Easy-Laser® Calibration Center has now expanded, facilitating improved capacity and turnaround times for clients.

ED’s services division, Engineering Dynamics Services (EDS), has also grown in Gauteng. EDS offers comprehensive condition monitoring, providing clients with detailed insights into machine health to prevent costly downtime. This expansion strengthens ED’s ability to deliver tailored solutions across diverse industries.

Engineering Dynamics’ move to Lynnwood Ridge is testimony to the company’s long-term stability and an ongoing commitment to client support.
