The top of the range, and a complete measurement tool
The XT770 is the system to buy when the work is no longer only shaft alignment. It does everything the mid-range XT660 does, and adds geometric measurements: flatness, straightness, squareness and bore centre. With 360° Live you adjust in both planes at once, and EasyTrend tracks thermal growth on a running machine, so it earns its place on precision installations and machine rebuilds, not just routine alignment.

The app is free on the App Store and Google Play and can be loaded on as many devices as you like, so adding a second or third display costs nothing. Weigh that against what one unplanned failure, or one out-of-tolerance rebuild, costs you on a critical machine.
Laser alignment training, aftercare and support
The instrument is the easy part. What follows it is where suppliers usually go quiet, so here is exactly what happens after you sign. Every laser alignment tool in the XT range should be calibrated every 12 months, and technical questions go to a person who has used these instruments on a plant rather than to a ticket queue.

We offer instrument training at our office on our training rigs and demo pump sets. We assume you already have a good understanding of laser alignment and need to understand the functions in the software.

When the XT770 is the wrong tool
It is a better use of your time to hear this now than after the invoice. The XT770 is the top of the range, and there are jobs where it is more than the tool that you need.
- You only do routine shaft alignment. Then the XT770 is more than you need. The XT660 does shaft alignment beautifully for less, and the XT440 covers lighter use.
- Your work is inside a hazardous, classified area. The XT770 is not EX certified. For a Zone 1 or Zone 2 area you need the Ex/ATEX rated XT550.
- You need one geometric measurement, occasionally. Tell us exactly what you are measuring; having us do it as a service, or a more focused instrument, may cost less than a full XT770.
- Budget is the only deciding factor. This is the top of the range, priced as such. If the geometric functions will sit unused, you are paying for capability you will not touch.

Where does the Easy-Laser XT770 fit in the range of Easy-Laser alignment systems?
The XT770 is the top of the range of Easy-Laser shaft alignment systems. It can be ordered with a rugged tablet display or the OEM XT12 display unit. For hazardous areas, the Ex/ATEX rated system is the XT550.
What makes the XT770 unique?
The dual beam 2 axis laser holds accuracy over long distances and adds measurement methods the XT660 does not have, including Dynamic trend and 360° Live. It also forms the basis for geometric expansion such as flatness, straightness and bore centre. It is a complete laser measurement tool, not only a shaft alignment tool.
What is your price range for the Easy-Laser shaft systems, and do you have stock?
Prices ex VAT: XT440 R105 000, XT660 R165 000, XT770 R276 000, all with Rugged Tablet display option and held in stock in Pretoria. The Ex/ATEX rated XT550 is priced separately as it is built to order.
Do the Easy-Laser systems come with software?
Yes. The software is app based and free from the Apple App Store and Google Play. You can load the free software on any number of smart devices at no cost.
Are any additional programs or applications free of charge?
Yes. All the programs are already loaded in the app. They become active the moment you connect the relevant accessory or laser transmitter to the display unit.
Which accessories can be added to the XT770?
The XT190 belt alignment tool and the XT280 vibration measurement tool can be added with their programs already installed. Additional laser transmitters extend it further: the XT20 or XT22 swivel laser for flatness and straightness, and the XT24 for bore centre.
Do you offer local calibration?
Yes. Engineering Dynamics is an accredited Easy-Laser service centre. Every system should be calibrated every 12 months, turnaround is a short 48 hours, and the cost is R15 500 ex VAT per unit.
